CONCEPT OF AGNI

It is a unique thing in Ayurvedic science in the external world it is observed that solar energy is essential for any sort of conversion in the living objects. The representative of this solar energy in the living organism is called Agni, Kayagni, Jataragni etc.

The normal activity of agni helps the maintenance of the human life is dependent of agni

KAYAGNI (Agni residing in body)

DHATWAGNI (Agni residing in dhatus)

BHUTAGNI (5 Agni that digest 5 respective bhutha components)

CONCEPT OF HEALTH

“SAMADOSA SAMAGNISCHA SAMADHATU MALAKRIYA PRASANNATMENDRIYAMANAH SWASTHA ITTYABHIDIYATE”

A person with normal equilibrium of dosas proper digestion normal transformation of dhatus proper excretory process pleasant soul sense organs and mind is said to be healthy.

The aims of Ayurveda are two

1.“Swasthasya swasthya samrakshanam” is preserving the health of a healthy person.

2. “Athurasyavikara prasamanam” is  curing the disease of the diseased.

Swasthavritha deals with what is good and bad for health and is full of vidhi (what one should do eg. Matrasi syat ie, eat according to the digestive capacity) and Nisheda (what one should not do eg. ‘Vegannadharayet’ ie, donot control the body urges)

3.Trgunas-Satva,rajas,Tamas Assessment
